The latest tumblr end-of-days has once again brought me back to the site I keep saying I’ll start using For Real This Time.

If nothing else, I think it’s probably time to make a new, less outdated sticky post, which I’m mentioning here so I can hold myself to that promise.

Hi! If you don't mind me asking, what's the new Tumblr situation? I also have this account kinda abandoned but I keep trying to use it more, and I'm noticing a new influx of Tumblr refugees now!

The CEO permabanned a trans woman on extremely questionable grounds then proceeded to stalk her over to twitter to harass her some more once it was clear no one was on his side. There’s also a now-deleted post where he vagued about killing tumblr if the community continues to be so ~toxic~.

What the hell?? I'd seen some bits of this but I didn't know that was the CEO... And I hadn't heard he said he'd kill Tumblr! This is so fucked up. I'm glad we at least have DW because between Twitter and Tumblr the internet feels so unsafe and unusable at the moment.

Yeah I feel like we’re really starting to see a reckoning for the Big Tech domination of the internet (though at least we have sites like dw that exist outside of All Of That)
