On today’s episode of “reasons I unofficially left the tumblr rp community,” I just found a blog entirely dedicated to telling people that their fc is problematic and I’m really really not surprised that it exists but tbh thanks @ them for reminding me that it’s just a microcosm of a site where I already hate engaging with people who aren’t my fandom friends (but with all the annoying stuff about this subculture piled on top)

I really hate the callout culture on tumblr sometimes. Just the other day someone made an acephobe callout blog for twilight fans and included actual asexual people in it smh

I'm in the rpc (although, I stick to my friends) and I've noticed arguements about fcs as well. My friend got scolded for having a 17 yr old fc even though everything he wrote was strictly sfw only. :/ I dunno man, tumblr is weird.

Whenever I see the word 'problematic' nowadays, I automatically disregard the speaker's views... because they're defining themselves as subscribing to a mindset I don't share.

Some of them will probably grow out of it; it's a peer-group thing. If the world is unlucky they will successfully impose it as the new norm ;-(
